It was our first time out. The hubby brought a cruiser as we are planning on doing the cape York trip next year, after a good service we thought we would test her out.....
We left from devonport Tasmania heading west to dip falls. The day started out raining (great 4wd weather) found a few small tracks with some bog holes, we were having a great day testing out the new bus. The convoy we were traveling in came round a bend to what looked like a shallow puddle...
The first flat tray cruiser went venturing in and almost tipped over due to a huge boggy hole in the puddle, we winched him out... As our cruiser has diff lockers we thought we would test them out.....
We turned them on and got a bit of a run up and headed in to the holes... We got bogged, not just a little bit but up to the door handles. With me the hubby and our 8 week old baby in the back our friends tried winching us out, with no success we tried snatching..... Still nothing, sitting in a huge hole of mud trying to get out...
By this stage I was freaking out a little bit as this was our first trip out and mistakes can be expensive, our mates decided a double snatch should be the go,,, so on the UHF we here are u ready, and then go.... The first cruiser takes off snatches into the second cruiser which starts bouncing around and trying to get traction and finally our cruiser starts shifting...
When we got out I got out of the car to have a look and mud was piled up on our sidesteps and only a little bit of water made it into the car.... So our first trip was fairly successful, tested the air lockers, the door seals and my sanity!
